Whoa...

Jump out at me crazy! I liked it, had a nice fast beat, and some pretty intense songs. Somethings sounded a little odd though...

-The snare that has a triple hit or something. Every once and a while, i hear an odd beat on the snare. Not too bad, but odd still.
-The main melody really hurts my ears. It wasnt horrible, and i liked the melody it took. However, it was still a bit of a pain.

The GOOD SIDE!

-The drum's were awesome. The beats were very nicely put down, and it gave a very nice "hurry up!" feeling.
-Some arps (?) that you might have used. Whatever was gated also gave the nice effect of "hurry up!!!"

So, it needs a bit of work, but nothing really should be changed. You did fine! 9/10 and 5/5.

Good work here. :)

FairSquare responds:

Hmm, i think you mean the rim-clicks when you said that the snare had some triple hits. The snare is playing constantly the same :P
Anyway, really thanks for the review. I left you one too :-)

A bit annoying.

Many of the percussion samples are very annoying. The melody that comes in there sounds off key a lot, im not sure if that was intentional or not. I agree with sirtom in saying that despite it's annoyingness, there was a lot of variation. It needs some work though, because the drums sound like a MIDI set to me.

8/10 and 4/5.

svinepels responds:

Ok, thanks for the advice and the high score. I like the drum kit quite good but if you know about a free download with some more professional ones, that'd be interesting! But is the melody really that off-key?

Cool!

Starts off cool with the 8-bit chiptune soundm but progresses better after that. I'm not sure i like the saw's soloing for themselves. The percussion really overpowers the saws at times, but it's not bad. Somethings sound pretty standard with the percussion. By standard, i mean standard FL kicks and claps. Thats never good, no matter how much EQ-ing and mastering you do to them.

It's not a bad song though! 9/10 and 5/5. Make some new percussion or download some new samples and send me a link if you do another.

Assios responds:

Thanks for your review ^^ The kicks and most of the other sounds are not FL sounds, btw ;P but yeah, they sound pretty standard

I'm glad you're back!

I've missed you in the times i've looked to your page without any new music. It's great that you're back. This has nothing different than the old "modem style" i've seen in your past songs. It has some nice melodies laid over on some pretty sick ass drum beats. I wonder if at times the melody is linked to a peak controller, but i can't be sure. It sounds to me like it has plenty of mastering, and it flows very nicely, despite the glitchy drums.

I give you a 10/10 and a 5/5, it's completly earned!

modem responds:

Thanks holmes. No peak controller or sidechaining, but you can bet there's a ton of compression going on as always.

It's so awesome!

Holy crap... this is so cool! I love that main line, it serves as a bass and melody. It needs a bit more variation, but it's cool still. The organ is also pretty cool. I like when the song goes to a high-pass, and then back down, thats an awesome break.

10/10 and 5/5. Nice work man. :)

mjattie responds:

hah, thanks :)

lol the bass needs a bit more variation I guess...

Wow man.

This is pretty insane! It has a nice attacking melody, some great drums, and a kick ass bass. My only complaint would be the seeming lack of a bassline, but this may just be me. You dont really have anything to improve. Keep it up!

9/10 and 5/5! (Kaizerwolf from the audio ad thread)

FlamingFirebolt responds:

Yo kaizerwolf :D. Thanks for stopping by.
The lack of a bassline? You mean the lack of a consistent bassline? I agree, it changes almost every 16 bars (FL users understand). But it shouldn't matter much. Most of the time, it plays a little background bass with a new melody, and goes back playing a C note. Ah well, apperently variation has a drawback ^^.
Thanks , didn't you have anything else to critic me on? hehe, i will definitly make a better one.

ps. Finally somebody who pays attention to the audio ad thread :D

A little over-the-top.

It doesnt sound ambient to me as it progresses, but the beginning is more ambient. The melodies work fine, but they over-power themselves a lot, and i can't hear the bass at times. The piano is a nice touch, really brings a nice element to the song. It doesn't sound standard at all, not like it usually does on a lot of songs i hear today.

So, it needs a bit of work, but it's good none the less.

8/10 and 4/5. (Kaizerwolf, from the audio ad thread.)

PGegen responds:

Thanks for the review - I didn't really set out to create an ambient piece, but after I finished it seemed to be the least inappropriate genre to put it under.

I say "Cookie"

But dont ask me why i say Cookie, but it sounds cool. And cookies are good.

Okay, now that the pointless part is over, let me get down to critiques. The percussion, mainly the hats and snare, is VERY standard sounding. The kick is fine, it suits the song well. The whole "sounds like it's though a telephone" thing really turns this song off for me, it doesn't sound full through a telephone-like-filter. The end really shocked me, because it sounded VERY off key. The pitch was very bad. The saw over powered everything, percussion, bass, and it really didnt sound good. It didnt really help the song at all, which is what a big melody needs to do.

It needs work. 7/10 and 4/5. (Kaizerwolf from the Audio Ad Thread)

SigmaSpore responds:

yeah ill give you that the end saw was a little overpowering, thats probly why my kicks werent to strong either

ALTHOUGH, its not going to sound like incredibly onkey, becuase its a detuned saw, so yeah, i guess i could find a fine tuneing pitch somwhere and alter it but idk where i would

yeah my precussion is nothing that im proud of, and it is probly the most standard sounding hats and snares youll ever hear...ever

aww, i liked the telephone noise

thanks for the review, probly the best one ive gotten yet, ill make sure my next song has better precussions just for you :)

peace

Wow.

Holy crapping gods of the almight heaven within our soul! And, in saying that, let me say i am in no religious.

ANYWAY, this was pretty awesome! Feel Good Inc is a good song, and your remix was pretty awesome. I liked the mix of synths you used, and everything mixed together nicely. However, the first kick that came in sounded very standard, but i may be wrong.

Good show sir! 9/10 and 5/5! (Kaizerwolf from the Audio Ad thread!)

Rig responds:

Standard?

Thanks for the review!

Pretty cool!

I like that wah-bass, it adds nicely to the dark DNB feel. The rest of the song, like with the slower seeming tempo in the beginning is really epic. Then, when the main drums and melodies come in, it really takes on a new feel. It sounds almost like level 1 for a game or something, or an epic boss level. You really did a nice job on this, and i really hope you finish it!

10/10 and 5/5!

Rucklo responds:

yay a review lololol ^___^

glad ya liked the tune man, thanks for the feedback. now to find some game-dude who wanna use it in a game. or i'll just delete it before that happens lololol
