Well...

This was really good man... nnto your usual type of music, but it's great non the less.

It starts off nice and smooth, a good pad used in the background. The echo-type sound that comes in after that is reminiscent of oscillator's "Chaser." The drums come in. It is a bit glitch like, but they actually add a nice beat to the song. It's nice and slow, very progressive. Many of the pads you used are also very unusual, however they don't subtract from the song. The piano is very smoothly added, it is mastered and filtered (?) very subtly and nicely.

I enjoyed listening to this, really. It was very very nice!

10/10 and 5/5! (i would appreciate it if you reviewed one of my songs. :])

mjattie responds:

I'll definitely will review one of your songs. I really listened to a couple of yours waayy to many times.

about the piano: it's mastered and filtered yea. (the wonderful reason piano's) Then you can mix your own piano. They used 6 different microphones and you can put them louder and softer and EQ and master them ;)

Hey cool!

This was actually very nice. Despite it being a midi song, it wasnt bad. Many things fit nicely in, especially the melodies. Those were very nicely done, and they flowed together nicely. At one point, it sounded like a piano, but thats alright, it didnt worsen the song at all.

My one real complaint would be the drums. Knowing in advance that it is a midi song, there isnt too much you can do about the drums.

So, it's a good song! 9/10 and 5/5.

It was never my intention to be mean on the forums. :)

UseWisdomWisely responds:

Cheers for the crit and the 5/5 :D.

I agree with you about the drums, but I'm happy with the way they're written, just not the way they sound if you get my meaning...and the Low Tom in the chorus really needs to be higher...

Ah well, I've never played drums in my life, so I guess there's a learning curve xD.

And it's cool about the forums mate.

Well obviously i fived it!

That was awesome! It started off nice and ambient. Whatever that piano sounding thing was... it was pretty awesome. I wasnt expecting such a beat, even though the genre is techno. With the ambient feel it had at the beginning, it surprised me a bit. I love 3:27 though, that was really awesome. The main melody went very nicely with the rest of the song. I liked how it wavered (maybe need a different word?) at times.

So, basically, an awesome song. Everything fit very nicely. 10/10 and 5/5!

SolusLunes responds:

That synth and melody is SBB's awesome brainchild.

I totally love it.

Try something...

You should try making that drum line swing as best you can, because i think that would actually give it a cooler feel. Anyway, the organ (?) kinda sound is pretty well done. It sounds like it has a bit of EQ, but it might need a bit more. That pick bass sounds pretty off-key to me, but it could be because i can't hear it all that well.

Good work! 9/10 and 5/5.

R-VeeBee responds:

Hmm. Yeah, the pick bass might be just a liiiiittle bit off. But ah well. Hehe..

Thanks for the comment!

Not bad.

It wasnt bad! I liked the main melody, it had a nice DNB feel to it, maybe even goa or psy. The only problem was that it was way to repetative. I'm sure it could be used as a background track, but it still doesn't have too much variety to it.

Needs some improvment to add more variety, but it is still not a bad song. 8/10 and 4/5.

R-VeeBee responds:

Indeed. It would need more variety. But the trick in music for (for example) flashgames, is that it shouldn't have too much variety, because then the background music might get distracting instead of supporting.

So that's why I keep these background (loop) thingies a bit repetitive. :)

But overall you're right.

Thanks for the review!

Uhm... wow!

This was really... uhm, well, suspensful! It sounded a lot like a dungeon-crawl type of song, with the dark atmosphere and instruments. It reminds me a lot of a dungeon type of game actually. Many of the orchestral elements make for a very nice song, and you seem to have mastered the noble art of awesome orchestral songs.

I remember one of my friends telling me i should make an album for my music called "The type of music they play on CSI when the guys are looking for bullet casings and hair samples." This would be a perfect song for an album like that!

10/10 and 5/5. That was pretty awesomely suspensful. :P

DavidOrr responds:

Thanks, that was exactly the kind of image I was going for!

Well...

This is quite nicely done. Working with haprs in the past myself, i can see the beauty of that nice harp line in the background. The strings are very nicely done, they have a nice ambient and cool feel to them. The main sound i heard, a flute or clarinet, was also very nicely played (:P) and EQ'ed, if any was done at all.

Another nice one from Solus. By the way, is this in 3/4 time? I can't tell for sure.

10/10 and 5/5. Nice work. :P

SolusLunes responds:

The main instruments were a flute and a piccolo. :D

Not too much eq on the flute, just a little bit of warmth. And yes, it is in 3/4 time. Another thing new for me, really :D

Made my night.

This song... it actually gave me one of the best dreams i've ever had. I'm not going to describe it, because it was a long dream, but it was really good... so thanks for that part. :)

The second part would be the song... it was very, VERY nicely done. I couldnt see any flaws. The drums were nice and mellow, and i liked how they kept a beat going with a more flowing rhythm. It had a nice quiet bassline, which is a bit hard to pick out. However, it is still in the song and adds a great amount of ambience and... i can't even think of another word to describe what this song does.

It's my new favorite. Amazing work man, i'm never forgetting that dream i had.

10/10 and 5/5, favorite, download, faved artist. Congrats man. :)

Rig responds:

I'd love to hear how this song gave you a good dream :3

Uhm... iWow.

This is insane! Where did you get those vocals? The filters and echo and reverb on them is so creepy and awesome! It makes for a perfect sound for a darkened night or weakening sunlight, heck, it even sounds video game quality!

It almost seems to me like you are walking through a damaged facility, with voices from the emergency alarms and voice orders being shouted through the complex to get out alive. It has such an awesome feel to it, makes me want to hear more!

So i will.

10/10, 5/5, faved song, faved artist. Wow man. Just, wow.

Morvan responds:

Thanks, I appreciate it! I've built a huge library of vocals and phrases, I've been collecting them for years now.

Beautiful :P

This was very good indeed! The drums surprised me, but it's very nice! I like the piano and strings, they compliment each other very nicely. The piano was very beautiful in the beginning, it had a nice sound. The melodies sounded a bit high up, but it worked out okay. The strings sounded very professional, to be honest, and again, i like how the paino and strings work together.

So, another good one from MH16. :D

10/10 and 5/5.

FairSquare responds:

Thanks! :D
